This excursion was worth every penny. Karen was a phenomenal guide- extremely knowledgeable, friendly, very communicative. Pick up was easy and she kept us on time throughout the day. The hikes were manageable and the views were stunning. It's exactly the nature experience I was hoping for. Lunch was really good; I was half expecting some deli sandwiches and chips, but this was a legitimate, plated lunch- curried chicken breast, smoked mozzarella pasta salad, Asian-style green beans, and tofu. Karen had plenty of snacks and drinks for us. The tastings at the wineries was a nice way to end the trip, and the drive from the west to the east side of the Cascades to get there was gorgeous to see. I'd love to do this excursion with friends next time I'm in Seattle.
Wow! I can't even being to express what an incredible tour this was. My best friend & I (in our 30's for reference) booked this together and all we continue to say is what an absolutely perfect day it was. We began our morning with a timely pickup from our hotel, about a 1.5 hour drive where we were given a wealth of knowledge about all of our surroundings. We then made stops to see Mt. Ranier, sip hot coffee & snack on some morning pastries, go on hikes to waterfalls, and walks through beautiful moss-covered forests. After our morning adventures, we stopped to have a perfectly planned lunch with delicious food & a beautiful view. If you like cookies, we RAVED about the ones provided at lunch! Shortly after, we made our way to the Yakima Valley to sip wine in the sunshine at a Fortuity winery & followed by Owen Roe vineyard. We were given a wealth of knowledge about wine, grapes, notes of the wine & how to taste it, and even pick some fresh apples. We finished up our day with snacks & then made our way back to Seattle. While we saw amazing sights and tasted amazing wine, what truly made our day spectacular, was our tour guide, Kevin. When I say he is the best tour guide I've ever had, I mean it. I've been on many, many tours & this one takes the cake. He is knowledgeable, friendly and an absolute BLAST (also, not a bad van karaoke singer)! There were five people total on the tour and he catered to each of our likings to the best of his abilities. Some of us were quiet, some of us were friendly and some of us were the life of the party (ha!). Kevin has a true passion for what he does and you can immediately recognize that he loves it. When you take a tour like this, it makes all of the difference when your guide is as dedicated and passionate as Kevin. I can honestly say I wouldn't change even one thing about our trip. Take this tour and make sure Kevin is your guide!!!
Several discrepancies against what was advertised. We had a good time, until we didn’t…. First, the operator wanted us to walk a block to meet. No big deal, still optimistic Coffee was made available well over 1.5 hours after our pickup and there were 8 muffins for 8 guests. They were nice muffins but we ran out of coffee. There was no tea, no fruit. One flavor of coffee sweetener. The mountain was gorgeously displayed as we had a perfect, clear day. But the hike was not a one mile private trail for guides. It was Naches, well over 3 hours with steep gradation. We weren’t physically prepared and bailed at a mile. Lunch wasn’t until after 1 pm and was quite good, if not inclusive of any greens. The wineries were a long drive and we had a nice time. But we didn’t arrive home until after 9pm and there was no dinner stop (unless you were cool with the Arby’s at the Pilot gas station). We don’t recommend and opine we would choose. A Ranier day or a winery day. Listening to drunk millennials sing rap on the return trip was just not for us. Guide was awesome but too distracted by front seat passenger. Trip home was harrowing.
Our tour guide/driver was Kevin. He's a regular trivia expert! Always spouting off facts about building, roads, rivers, passes, and events. We stopped for coffee and blueberry/banana muffins at the Federation Forest then started our van trek through Rainier National Park. For our main hike, we did some of the Pacific Crest Trail then went around Tipsoo Lake and Naches Pass. We were lucky to have a completely sunny with a high of 75 day! Afterwards, we had a delicious meal packed by a local farm to fresh grocer. I have never had a golden beet salad so good! The next stop would have been the Yakima Valley for wine... Unfortunately the local forest fires made that area inaccessible to tourists so we went to some local tasting rooms in Snoqualmie. Chateau Noelle and WM Grassie. We got to sample several styles of wines from each producer and I certainly went home with a few bottles. Our last stop was the Snoqualmie Falls. Absolutely stunning. After a very full day, we got dropped off and we bar hoping by 8:00. Thanks again, Kevin!
Everything about this tour was fantastic. Our guide. Ben, was outstanding. He was personable, fun, informative and well prepared. The group with which we had the good fortune of being pared were fun and laid back. The quality we got for the money was excellent. We looked at a couple of tours that were less expensive but they were not all inclusive. This one was completely all inclusive from transportation in a very nice vehicle, snacks, breakfast pastries, park fees, lunch and wine tasting fees. Highly recommend!
Viator delivered AGAIN! This was my 2nd trip in two weeks that I booked through Viator, and I was extremely pleased. Our guide, Ben, was amazing. Ben was very thoughtful and wonderfully planned treats/food for the trip. He even made a pit stop for some fresh Rainer cherries for the group.
What a fantastic trip. We were picked up promptly at our hotel by our guide for the day, Ben. Ben is so knowledgeable and tons of fun. Nice van with plenty of room for our small group. We hiked the Grove of the Patriarchs Nature Trail. Crossed a very cool suspension bridge. The water was so clear and the area was just beautiful. Ben talked to us the whole time about the area and the natural surroundings. Had a fabulous lunch at a picnic bench by a stream. Very well done. Packed up and headed to some wineries. Again, Ben was very knowledgeable about the area and the wines. Enjoyed ourselves and had a very talkative ride back to Seattle. Would highly recommend this trip (and Ben) to anyone visiting the area.
