I am originally from Virginia, but had never been to Richmond. Thinking I might like to re-locate there someday, I decided to visit after Christmas. I did a Churchill tour with Ray and a Downtown tour with Jeff. I chose to do private tours which was great - I highly recommend the private tours. Both Ray and Jeff were great guides. I learned so much about Richmond's incredible history and Richmond's fabulous vibe . I am a designer and Ray and Jeff highlighted architecture and design on our walks. I am definitely going back and am looking forward to touring again with the Richmond guys!

Ray was very personable and informative. We covered a lot of ground in just over 2 hours and came away with a very good understanding of the history and development of Richmond as manifested in its many architectural features. Very highly recommended way to obtain a thorough understanding of this city.

My husband and I took a 7 day road trip leaving from NYC and stopping first in Richmond VA. We had 1.5 days to explore. Problem? We did not have enough time with our busy work schedules to research where to visit. Solution? Call Ray, co-owner, of the Richmond Tour Guys. He customized our tour, traveling with us in our own car for 2.5 hours, serving as the consummate local guide with a flare for history and little known historical facts. It was truly the best way to go. Our only wish was that we had scheduled a few more days in this city to explore the roots of its past, the rumblings of its present, and the intrigue of its future. From my limited view, it is a city with all the makings of a rebirth.

Jeff, our guide, was quite knowledgeable about the Historic Black part of Richmond, the pre-Revolutionary history and relationship to Richmond as well as the Civil War story. Particularly the architecture, the players (Marshall, Washington, Jefferson, Davis, etc.) But the best part was his interesting telling of the inter-woven story (and all the extra "details") behind all the buildings, people and known history. Have to mention the Episcopal Church was stunning..don't miss it! You barely know you are walking and he knew the answer to all my questions! Highly recommend this tour.

I work for an Independent Living Community for senior citizens. I was able to book a step on tour with ease. We have our own 21 passenger bus and our tour guide got onto our bus and told our bus driver where to go. He also provided each resident with a head set and had special ones for those with hearing aids. Our tour guide Ray, was extremely accommodating and tailored our tour to meet our specific needs. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone young or old. We live in such a historic city and it was so nice to learn in detail about some of the history that Richmond has to offer.
